[Day 5, MA, Combat] Secure the Relic

[Forte Kryze]

Forte upon hearing everyone has a way out, grabs Lysa's waist and lifts them both onto the open ceiling.

"WHEEEEE!" Lysa says delightedly as she rides to the top.

Upon getting up there she looks about to see what's going on outside.

[Irizka]

"Then this one will escort me," they say, looking to Praxton from Raven. "As I will escort the helm back to your Mandalore. We will return directly- but you will need journey across the top of the ship. I bid you so so quickly- and speak to the others you require haste as well."

"You are not out of this trial yet."

[Raven Cadera]

"Was going to be my suggestion," she said with a nod, swallowing her distrust. If Irizka was going to betray them, she had had better opportunities to do so than right now, Raven reasoned to herself. "Go ahead, I'll cover the rear."

As Praxton got ready to depart with the witch and the helm, she took a quick moment to grab the discarded helmet of the young Mandalorian warrior, before beginning her ascent.

However, the whipcord did not find a good enough piece to attach to, making the task much more difficult than she imagined despite her own athleticism.

Praxton and Irizka would leave, but not without a parting look from the Mandalorian warrior. One look that conveyed so much, stay safe may have been chief among them but there was much unspoken right now and it held the acknowledgement of all that as well. With Irizka and the helm secure, the warrior would depart. Exiting and bringing their quarry directly to Mandalore.

Unfortunately, Raven would find delay. As attachment points for a whipcord we're not well founded when a ships hull was blasted open. Still, she should have time enough to try again. However, Irizka's words and her own senses ring in her ear: time was of the essence.

She gave a clear nod to him, raising her hand to let him know everything was alright.

Taking a deep breath, Raven steadied herself and focused on the challenge ahead, rather than the different floods of thoughts and questions swirling around in her mind at the moment. Steady her feet and her hold, whipcord out.

Raven bears the edge, almost to the top but- the whipcord slides against the metal, sharp metal, cutting the cord early. In a shock of a moment Raven feels the sudden shift of her body weight as it goes from the pull of gravity against her ascent to the sensation of weightlessness. She was so near the top, and now she was floating in this fraction of a second with nowhere to go but down.

It was clear that Raven was going to fall, but Forte had to sprint to get to the edge in time to save her. Thankfully, she was safe for now.

Forte's hand extends at the last moment, aided by Lysa as well, and the two manage to lift Raven out of the hole just before gravity takes its effect. With the team finally on the ships surface they were ready to leave. A simple task it would seem, at first. However, after some walking they would hear why the Empire was so quick to withdraw from their engagement...

"Target in sight. Beginning our run," the pilot speaks over their communications systems. Checking off the last couple dials they need to make an effective pass over this risen vessel. Interceptors had cleared the airspace so this was sure to be a cake run. Just needed to do their job, drop the payloads, and fly home.

Milk run.

The helmet hid the embarrassment on her face, but they could hear her breath of relief from Raven. "Thanks, vode. Thank you." Truly, she was grateful for having them both there to catch her.

As they head away from the site, she sees the Imperial ships swooping in to completely destroy the wreck. There wouldn't be much left of it after this...

Players need to make it to extreme range in order to get out of the path of the incoming bombers. This means they will need a total of three rounds to get out. With the time of your exit, you have one round before the bombers get near to have moved. Which leaves you with two rounds of threat.

For those two remaining rounds, all players are rolling Stealth against Average difficulty. Threats and advantage will confer a bonus/setback to your next check at a ratio of 2/1.

That is two rolls per player, minimum. If you succeed your first roll, feel free to make your second. Should you make both you are home free.

And skedaddle Forte does. His memory of the events on Mandalore giving him the knowledge needed to avoid tripping up, however the most important advice on those days were not to look back.

Lysa whistled hearing the bombers on their run she broke into a sprint with the group "Oh man Ray you know how much I've wanted to fly one of those things? I mean can you imagine? The bombs they put on those are incredible! Oh. My. Gosh. WE ARE GOING TO GET TO SEE IT IN ACTION!" The realization dawned on her that it was in fact coming to bomb them.

Her excitement maybe took her focus away from the mad scrabble for survival but for an orphan growing up on the mean streets of Kamda Stealth was an essential skill.

Screaming from above the trio of bombers race overhead, dangerously overhead. Lysa is close enough to be able to see the bay doors open. Proton bomba dropping from above they land too far ahead of her. Enough to whip around anything loose hanging from her kit like hair or wraps but otherwise leaving her unharmed.

She was lucky.

Maybe not that lucky though, in front of her Lysa was now confronted with an enormous crater. While they had been all running together they were now forced to separate in order to continue.

"Eyes on another one," the lead pilot says over the comms. Lining up their run the trio exchange brief chatter to make sure everyone is on mark.

"They're away-"

Explosions rock the surface of the ship very near to where Raven's boots were. From all onlookers it appears that Raven disappears in the cloud of smoke following the explosions riddling the ships hull. Wind would clear the smoke soon but for a brief while they could only hope.

"Lysa, don't get exci---!" whatever she was saying got cut off from the explosions, and she had to push herself away from the others to avoid them all getting blasted to pieces.

It hurt. It wasn't a direct hit, but she felt some of the blast tear through the parts of her armor that weren't beskar. But her sensors allowed her to see a path through the chaos that was the aftermath, and get away clean.

Raven tapped a hand to the side of her helmet, establishing a quick connection with the others through the built-in comms. Should be enough for Praxton to not turn around after seeing those torpedoes go off. "Don't worry about me, I'm good. Lysa, head west, I think that is out of their field of vision right now."

Lysa never misses a beat, explosions are her life so seeing one go off in front of her? Well mostly just thought it was exciting.

She quickly diverts and slides down a different way hitting her comms

"Thanks gorgeous. I know my Rayray is always looking out for me." She said as she made her escape.

As the warriors would scatter and be able to regroup away from the craft they would not stop hearing the bombing. For the next half hour the bombing runs would continue until all that was left of the vessel was a new cove for the nearby lake.
