[Day 0 - Early Afternoon, Bunker Door] Desk Job

[Soleene Stryss]

"I would think so but I'm not so sure how you can go about that nowadays with everything almost already staked by everyone and the Empire. The galaxy is large enough, sure. I've always thought that home was typically found in the Enclave than some spherical body in a system. I suppose it would be nice to rally everyone together but seeing as the Empire knows where to find us now, I'm not so sure that's something we need at the moment as a priority," she gave a shrug at that. It was just a thought and nothing more, she wasn't the thinker or visionary in the Enclave.

"Everything good is worth fighting for. I'm sure what we're looking for will help in finding a home. Or make it clearer. This fight seems like a long time coming anyway. I doubt the Empire would have let something like the Rebuilders exist when they like stomping everything down."

[Varina Ordo]

"No, Soleene. I mean home home. Mandalore. The surrounding system. Topple the whole Empire, make them never come back." Varina rolled her eyes at herself. "Well, who knows how much killing that would take or if there would be another way.

"But yeah. We're in for a bloody struggle even if I'm wrong about the planet. Glad you're not useless in a fight cause I'm not sure the same could be said for everyone."

[Soleene Stryss]

"My bad, here I thought the plan was to go nomadic for a bit. I suppose that's how I've known life as a Mandalorian but little do I know. And, thanks...that's probably the nicest thing you've said about me, ever," she said a touch dryly on that note.

There was a slight curious tilt of her head as she rethinks her last statement. "I hope you're not finding yourself second guessing some of our kin around here. We're all in this together and we're all family. Sure, fighting is everything but people are allowed to do other things. Like, I would be pretty screwed if these screens went out. Not entirely screwed, but you catch my drift."

[Varina Ordo]

"I mean ultimate, ultimate goal... Unless we're just planning on running away for the rest of our lives." Varina pursed her lips. It wasn't like she hadn't been roaming around during her recent years. But that he always been her choice.

"I am doubting. It's what I do, apparently," she said, tacking on that last bit. "Everyone does something besides fighting, sure, but how many of them are able to fight well? People love doing inefficient stuff all the time."

[Soleene Stryss]

"I'm sure that's not entirely the goal. I guess I'm just trying to say that it sounds kind of strange at this point but doesn't mean it shouldn't happen or we don't deserve it. I'm sure that doesn't exactly put an end to some of our wandering ways either. The galaxy is large enough that not too many people can live out their years by just staying in one world. I don't think we're exactly entirely insular either," she shrugged.

"Hah, yeah?" she brought up with a skeptical edge. "I know it would be great if everyone can fight well and efficiently but I don't think we're the type to just turn people away just because they don't have the sharpest edge. We're very militant but I never thought of ourselves as military, so to speak."

[Varina Ordo]

"One world is only so big, particularly if you travel around on foot." Varina shrugged. "Not that there's much to see on most of Mandalore. Place is actually kind of a dump. But symbolically? Yeah, we need that." Without it, there would always be a doubt in who truly let the people.

"Of course we're not a military. You know how boring the military is?" She scratched the back of her head. "Actually, come to think of it, some of the high-ups can have a stick up their bum like the Imperial officers do."

[Soleene Stryss]

"I still think that we're pretty united as is but maybe I'm not quite seeing the scope of it all," she said with a shrug. "But, there's absolutely no denying the importance of taking back what belongs to us, especially when it comes to an ancestral homeworld. Just because this feels like the norm now, probably doesn't mean it should be that way, sure."

"I don't but I've had a few jobs before. I'm going to guess it's kind of like that except the hours are longer, the bosses are worse, no vacation days, and you don't exactly get a great lunch room as a benefit," she smirked at that point. "Somebody has to be hard around here, still. But to your point, we're not exactly uniform but we're going to work on it. We're going to make this work in the end."

[Varina Ordo]

"Pretty united? Look beyond our little group here. There's a whole planet of people who don't care. Even my mom doesn't care." Varina shifted over to sit on a random surface to watch the monitors. Might as well remain appraised of any threats.

"No, my point is that the enemy is composed of people just like us who talk and talk and talk until it's go time." Those similarities clawed at her psyche, so much so that her jaw clenched. Only when she found another distraction did she loosen up. "Bosses, commanders, all of them love hearing themselves talk."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Oh, right," she murmured, recalling that bit of side plot a year ago. It did end with them fighting a bunch of other Mandalorians too, potentially to the death, so united might have been ignoring a bit of background and glossing a lot of details over. "I mean more all of us but I understand it's a bit of an echo chamber at the moment. We don't exactly have an army but a movement at least."

"So, I suppose there's the concern that there are fewer people going when it's time to go. I don't think we're composed of cowards, I doubt they would earn their bes'kar if that were the case." Her head motion would indicate that she was looking over Varina. Was she a bit young to be bitter? Or the exact right age? She wasn't too sure. "Then again, it's not exactly the time to let issues linger. If there's someone who can't pull their way, maybe now is the time to speak up than wait until they never pop up from cover."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina's expression softened. Those encounters had taken quite a bit from her, most of all her leg. "A movement confined to one base for the time being. I'm glad you have so much faith in it, though.

"And maybe I shouldn't put so much doubt in our fellows, hmm? They'll have more time to prove themselves." She forced out a laugh. "What if I was sent to test you, huh? Wouldn't that be something."

[Soleene Stryss]

"We're a bit on the back foot, yeah," she said with a slight grate of annoyance on the matter with a shrug. It wasn't something she was going to dwell on, other than digging herself out of it. "I'm sure we're going to be back moving more freely once this blows over. It's not a home I'm going to abandon anytime soon. Just to be clear, I mean the Enclave and now the base itself."

"I wouldn't," she shook her head at that. "Metal sharpens metal, or something. I've only spoken to a handful around here and more than a few seem to have something over me. Maybe it is a test, wouldn't be surprised. I'm still kind of new. If you think I'm not pulling my weight then I'll just have to do more lifting and, well...you're not getting rid of me that easily."

[Varina Ordo]

"You're doing fine," Varina said, still completely incapable of showing much in the way of affection. "You haven't run away after all this. Just could use a little work on being less dour." That was rich coming from her but... She really did like to say whatever was on her mind.

[Soleene Stryss]

"Hah, all right..." she snickered at that thought as she tilted her head, thinking twice if Varina actually had a point here. "I've never considered myself dour in the slightest, probably just a realist but that's something all dour people would say. Still, I think I have a pretty positive outlook considering our situation and all. I just happen to also know that after climbing this hill, there's always another hill waiting for us on the otherwise. I don't think we're going to catch a break anytime soon either."

[Varina Ordo]

"It's that grumpy attitude of yours. It's like you only ever want to punch things in the face." Varina rubbed her knuckles. "After a while, it gets tiring, it's annoying. Would rather choke someone or something."

Her humor didn't survive long. "Yeah... There'll always be something. Keep on punching forward, I guess. Glad you're not glum over our fate..."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene moved her body slightly so that she could rest her arm on the head of the chair she was sitting on. "Well, I did ask for a bit of feedback on my personality and approachability. Never thought I was grumpy and I want to do more than just punch things in the face. I don't hit the gym just to have lousy kicks for one. Two, I might have other aspirations. I might..."

She turned to sit properly in her chair once more. "If I was glum, I'd probably be back on Zeltros and probably a memory at that. Whatever life throws at you, just punch it, I guess."

[Varina Ordo]

"Maybe you need to hang out with more people who aren't Mandalorians. Or Rebuilders, honestly." Varina hopped up onto her feet and let out a mighty roar as she stretched. "Then you'd understand a bit more about how people can't approach the big, mean, grumpy Soleene."

The mention of punching, of course, made her chuckle. "Yup. Next time I see a wall that I can't break through, I'll have you punch through it, okay?" She pursed her lips. "Want to try punching that vault door down?"

[Soleene Stryss]

"Uh-huh," she said with a few cocky nods, seemingly not too taken by that piece of advice from Varina. "We have a bit of a shortage when it comes to the variety of company around here but maybe I should step out a little more and go to town. I get the feeling that we're not exactly supposed to be wandering about when this place is going to be crawling with Imperials sooner or later."

"I can give it a try when it comes down to it," she snickered on that note. "But I think I'd rather save my armor's servos on something worth doing. There's already a gym for that kind of busy work and I've hit plenty of times already."

[Varina Ordo]

"Yeah you can head into town, preferably out of the armor." Varina chuckled. "Unless you're afraid that someone will be out to get you. Don't worry, I know the Imperials. They'll need time to prepare, get it all perfect or whatever."

The amusement continued in regards to the vault. "Uhuh. I think you could do with more training outside of armor too. Gosh, you're like a Droid."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Already got a target painted on us. If they're going to be shooting at us, I'd rather be in something with layers than in a bathing suit...and wait, what? A droid?! You're calling me, a droid?"

That almost seemed like fighting words to Soleene but thankfully she had something else to turn her attention on.

"Uh, yeah. I think my programming directive is kicking back in and telling me to get back to work on this security detail. I can't deviate from that or else I might move on to my next function, busting kids for going past their bedtime." Her bristling tone made it clear that it was more than sarcasm.

[Varina Ordo]

"I, uh... No? Just a comparison and, well..." Varina hopped up to her feet and looked at her surroundings for ways to scramble. "It's, like, the afternoon! I'm not a kid! And, umm..."

She scurried away farther and farther. "Bye!"
