[Day 2 - Early Morning] On the Run (Expecting)

While Soleene would have liked to start her morning by taking a jog in the wilderness, especially when there was pleasant weather and so much of it around them, that wasn't quite advisable with all of the Imperials that were out and about looking for them. Even if she was caught out there not looking like an obvious Mandalorian, they would likely have plenty of questions. Thankfully, there was a gym at the Enclave and Soleene merely did her run there. It wasn't quite the same, however...it wasn't like they were going to fight the Imperials on a treadmill.

Huff!......Puff!.....Huff!....Puff!

Mayrelli had seen Soleene start her treademill run and had naturally hopped over from the weights to try and match the other Mandalorian on a neighbouring machine. Her shorter legs were working overtime to try and keep the pace as he head bobs up and down like a hopping cloud.

Soleene had been rather focused on her run as she was running at a rather decent clip. She had some weights around her legs but that didn't come close to the bulk she would have when wearing armour. However, she couldn't everything in Mandalorian armour, something that perhaps tangentially stayed in her mind after her conversation with Varian.

She did find herself glancing over to the person who was suddenly beside her, giving her a raise of a brow at first. Whether this was supposed to be a competition or Mayrelli trying to be friendly, Soleene upped her speed a little and continued on her run to see if Mayrelli was going to up the stakes in a similar manner.

May glances back and nods her head in acknowledgement before increasing her own speed to meet Soleene.

Say what you want about Mayrelli, she had stamina. Also stubbornness, they were related.

It was admittedly amusing to see Mayrelli follow along with her speed and there was a slight smirk at that from Soleene. She had the sense that this could keep going until someone either quit or got hurt. It was the Mandalorian way, or something. Soleene was content to run for a bit in silence for a few more moments before she reached for the treadmill's control to slow right down until she put herself on a brisk walking speed.

"So, Mayrelli, right?" She would finally say to her.

"Ohthankthestars"
May mashes the button on her own machine until it slows down to the walk. She strides along with her hands on her sides, taking deep breaths
"That was invigorating. And uh, yell. Mayrelli is me." She jerks a thumb at herself.
"And Soleene, right? I remember hearing you're pretty hardcore, talk the Mandalorian thing very seriously."

[Soleene Stryss]

"I was kind of curious about what you were going to do. You could have just said hello or something. I almost figured that you wanted to race me or something. I mean we're not exactly at a traffic stop but it's almost the same setting, isn't it?" She chuckled.

"Yeah, that's me from yesterday. That's got to be a new one, the hardcore and serious thing. I don't think they're off base but it's still a new one. It almost sounds like I have fans but I'm not so sure I've done all that much to earn them, yet at least," she said as she took the towel around her shoulders and dabbed it on her head a few times before running her hand through her short hair.

"Oh if we were at a traffic stop we'd have definitely raced. And I've have won."
She winks.
"Much easier to race when there's an engine doing all the work. Not that pilots are lazy, we work harder than anyone."
Which see seems determined to prove on the machine.

"Lots of people who have fans who didn't earn them, I mean, that's the empire in general, right? Meanwhile Mandalore is out there working hard to get fans and he's got 30ish. It ain't fair sometimes."
She shakes her head sadly/
"So, how are you gonna earn them? I hope it's not doing a Varina and knifing a bunch of people, she'll feel a bit put out if you muscle in on her niche."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Oh, I don't doubt it. Never been much of a vehicle gal, I just know how to ride them around the bloc and park them. That's pretty much it. I didn't know you were a racer. What do you have as a ride?" She asked with a curious glance given to her direction.

Soleene chuckled with a shake of her head. "I can't say that being either popular or a celebrity has ever been my thing, really. Varina can keep that gig to herself. I'm just going to do my thing and what I have to do. Sure, I guess I lucked out a bit on the whole storm crow thing that basically put us ahead on this whole situation. I figured that it's bound to be another person's turn down the line."

"Nuthin'!"
May sighs dramatically.
"Our cruiser, sometimes. When Mandalore needs a lift, or one of the speeders. But I don't have the tricked out full speed customised cherry red ride every girl deserves. Although hopefully one day..."
Another sigh.

"Just part of being a Mandalorian I suppose, not a lot of opportunities to save up for a vehicle. Anyway, you're super modest for a celebrity. I guess Varina is Moody Mando so you can be Sporty Mando? That works. I'm pretty excited for my time to come though, it's been a while. What bird do you think I should be? Pick one of the good ones."

[Soleene Stryss]

"That so? You're more a pilot than a driver then? It makes more sense why you wouldn't have a ride. I guess it's harder to find a spare ship lying around here. People don't tend to just lose those so easily, especially with all of the headaches of having a matching transponder if you have any hopes of getting very far. I can't keep an eye out," she gave a few nods. Again, it would be difficult to just bump into a ride that was ready for the taking with no strings attached.

She narrowed her eyes at May. "Oh, you were a bit more serious about the celebrity thing. Sure, I can be Sporty Mando. I'm sure that might feel a bit redundant, even at the Enclave. Sometimes you just walk into it. As for a bird, I don't know...how about a convor?"

"I'm multi-skilled. It's just that if you buy a nice speeder what happens when the enclave has to move again? Not always enough room for vehicle's in the hold, not like there are many of us or anything. Space in space is at a premium."
She grabs her own towel and starts rubbing it vigorously over her face and neck as she continues
"As serious as I am about most things, which is only moderately sort of serious. But you make a good point, half us Mandos are sporty Mandos. I dunno, do you have other positive attributes? You could be heroic Mando or something? Gotta learn how to self-market."

She pauses to glance across at Soleene.
"A Convor? They're super cool, all regal and stuff. Yeah, I guess I got convor traits."

[Soleene Stryss]

"There's got to be some space for a speeder, maybe one of those compact ones with foldable parts? I'm not so sure if those exist in great quantities. I've seen enough of the gearheads around her hauling all sorts of things with them that won't even fix the environmental systems around here on a hot day. I'm sure they have a reason for it, so I'm sure if you can show that you deserve to own one, I'm sure the space will make itself. That's my take at least," she said with a shrug of her shoulder.

"Well," Soleene began at first as she maintained her walk. "I'd like to think that I have a rather magnetic personality. I don't have anything to back that up with but hey, if it's a self-market, anything is apparently possible, right?"

She gave a few nods as Mayrelli seemed to be accepting of her offered spirit animal. "So, we got you down to maybe Mayrelli the...Convori. Heh, sorry, that sounded a bit better in my head."

"But how are they gonna fold the wildly impractical extra engines I'll have outfitted it with...unless the engine fold too..."
Mayrelli seems lost in thought for a few moments as she walks.
"We can workshop it, that and the nickname. I could be 'The Dark Convori' or 'The Sky Convori' or, orrrrr 'The Convori with Stars in Her eyes' something rad like that. Get a brand together. I bet I can get someone to pain little Convories on my armour. Yeaaaah."

The short Mandalorian fistpumps.
"Nice and easy. Thanks Soleene! No wonder you're good at this sort of thing, because of the personality. Also maybe the pheromones? I wish I had pheromones, well, pheromones that smelt nice and not like you know, sweat."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Look, it seems like this thing might just have taken a mind of its own. If you're talking about brands, I'm more than willing to give up my rights on that idea about the convor. I don't think I've ever seen one up close anyway. Aren't they like designer celebrity pets? Well, anyway," she waved off a hand, not wanting May to answer that question.

She looked off with a slightly abashed groan before regarding Mayrelli. "...uh, yeah. Well, I guess you've got a point on that. Maybe the pheromones help with the personality. Pheromones aren't everything, obviously, especially growing up on the streets of Zeltros. You'd think that every Zeltron had a career in entertainment or found their way on stage. Obviously not the case, we're not all born celebrities. So, it makes this thought of me being a celebrity...kind of amusing."

"Yeah, and hey. No matter our species, we're all Mandalorians...or is that erasing the differences that make us special? What is inclusion? Everyone wearing the same helmet?...Or, everyone wearing their own helmet?"
She pauses for a moment, deep in thought.
"Man, this stuff is super complicated. I dunno how anyone figures it out. Well, I guess the most important thing is not to judge someone by their pheromones! Even if they smell like strawberry."

She sighs happily.
"So, why'd you sign up? Because you didn't want to be a celebrity?"

[Soleene Stryss]

"Whoa, hey there," Soleene said as she put the breaks on her treadmill at all of those questions from May. "Let's not get too carried away by that thought. I'm probably not the person to ask about that. But whatever the definitions say, I'm sure we're all in this together. I don't think we would be allowed through these doors if that wasn't the case."

"Sign up for this particular duty or as a Mandalorian?" she asked for clarification as she moved off to find something to would work on her arms.

Stars yeah, weights. May bounds off the machine and goes searching for some dumbbells she can show off by curling.
"As a Mandalorian. Everyone's got a story. Oh, I can go first!" She clears her throat as though a great speech is imminent. "Mandalore saved my life, so I have to pay him back."
...Well drek, that actually didn't sound very impressive when she said it like that.

"Uhhh, so I made sure to repay my life debt by embodying the Mandalorian spirit and fighting alongside him to one day save his life in return?"
That sounded better.

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene gave a glance to see what May was doing and decided to join her to do some curling. She picked up some weights that were appropriate for her routine and settled down at a bench where she could talk to her.

"Huh," she said with a blink given to her. If May was worried that Soleene wasn't particularly impressed, the Zeltron looked a bit incredulous. However, it wasn't her place to pick and she gave a shrug of her shoulders. She would accept May's story as is. "That sounds pretty good. I'm sure there was a bit of dialogue and impressions behind all of that. Mandalore doesn't just pick up anyone into the Enclave, at least that's what they told me."

"As for me, I was a mercenary before all of this." She frowned momentarily as she thought twice to correct herself. Mercenary might have a bit more assumptions attached to it. "Muscle for hire is probably more accurate. I didn't exactly fight wars or have any formal military training. I was a bit on the run too. Occasionally, I did a bit of bounty chasing and collecting. So during my odd jobs, I ran into a few Mandalorians who were after the same people. I kind of knew the area and the people, so they allowed me to tag along. This probably went on for like...four jobs before they considered extending the invite. I guess they had to make sure I wasn't the type who thought about stealing their gear or just in it entirely for the money."

"Oh, you were a thug? That's awesome, go you! Break down those stereotypes."
May leans over to lightly punch Soleene's shoulder.
"Sounds like you were a real reprobate. But hey, weren't we all?"

She grins as she continues her reps.
"Glad you proved yourself and all that. And now you're still here, and you haven't stolen any of the gear. Or if you have nobody has noticed, which is even more impressive. So, Mando for life then?"
