[Day 2 - Early Morning] On the Run (Expecting)

"Not quite a thug," she said on the matter, although thinking twice that might be a more apt descriptor. What else could you call it? A general physical contractor? No, that was dressing it up too formally. "It was just a gig that I did decently with my minimum amount of qualifications. Prior to all of that, I was a bouncer and it's not like that opens all sorts of avenues for you, especially when you want to keep mobile. But yeah, I guess it's easy to fall back on old habits when you don't have a routine or something to believe in."

Soleene chuckled with a shake of her head. "And it never crossed my thoughts. Even if it did, I'm sure that it wouldn't have ended well for me or any thief. Probably hooked like a fish with a grappling hook and dragged across the planet by jetpack. And yeah, I'm a Mandolarian for life. And I hope it's a long one for most of us."

"Ah okay, entry level criminal. Well I suppose as long as you only hurt people who needed hurting that's alright. We all gotta start somewhere, right? And without connections you can't just walk into a nice cushy mid-level crime job. Nepotism is out of control these days."
She seems to be straining a little more at the weights but clearly has no intention of stopping until Soleene does.

"Mando for life is the goal, at least for Mandalore I guess. Although as for long...you do know about the imperial forces, right? Just uh, thought I'd check on that. If we make it to even a medium length life I'm considering that a success."

Admittedly, Soleene was just going with something middling and easy. Seeing May strain herself out earlier, she was not going to be responsible for any incidental injuries her trying to match her level. "It's not like me to start from the top anyway, you don't get all the fine details of experience. I'm sure that is especially true when it comes to being a Mandalorian, the language is still pretty rough for me in some spots. Earning makes it all the more sweeter too, like your first bes'kar."

"Yeah, I know about the Imperials," she said with a grimace. "I think the idea is that we're only going to be here so long as it's good for us. We're strong together but not enough to take on several Star Destroyers worth of Imperials. It's not going to be our last stand if things line up right. We're just holding the line, for now."

"Absolutely, get in on the bottom floor whether it's crime, Mandalorians or a department store. I'm terrible at the language, but hey, at least we'll always have basic? Love me some basic."
Grunt, huff, puff.

"I'm definitely in favour of the whole fighting retreat thing. But it does cut things pretty tight, right? Not a lot of days left to find that relic. And I'll feel real stupid to die looking for a hat or something. Don't even like hats."
Gesturing at her hair. "It's nightmarish enough fitting all this inside a helmet anyway. You got any tips for helmet hair?"

Soleene raised her brow at the Mayrelli momentarily. That was perhaps the first time she heard someone so excited about basic.

"Yeah," she said with a moment's consideration before giving a shrug. "It's perhaps best to not dwell on it until it happens. I'm pretty sure that we're supposed to relax while we still can, especially when it's going to get hairy later. I haven't checked in on our progress, to be honest, research and archeology aren't exactly my forte."

Her gaze went up to May's hair for a moment. "As for helmet hair, I'd recommend a good cap or hood underneath your helmet. It's what I do so that it doesn't rub up against you constantly. Short hair helps a little. Showers whenever you can, I'm sure that's a no-brainer. Padding is an absolute boon too and it'll go a long way, replace that whenever you can."
