Mandalorian's are joined in a religious belief of the Manda, and adherence to the Resol'nare (Six Actions.) In following the Resol'nare Mandalorians are to gain their soul allowing them to join with their brethren in the Manda. The Manda is essentially an oversoul of the Mandalorian people, something to which all living and deceased Mandalorian's are a part of. While the Manda is not an afterlife as we might understand through the concept of "Heaven" it is more closely treated in comparison to what we see with the Jedi and their connection to the Force when they pass on.
Modern Mandalorians at their base are defined best as a deeply pragmatic people. This pragmatism is seen in every facet they possess and that is not lost in their interpretations of their creed, or in how they interact with the galaxy. Often, on a personal scale, people who do not belong to the culture may be surprised by their willingness to drop old grudges, animosity, or goals when faced with a new situation which allows a better option for themselves and their people.
Mandalorians, as a culture, are a people descended from warrior traditions. While the Resol'nare may be interpreted by those alike the New Mandalorians to not require a fully militant culture there are many more who disagree. Self-reliance is a major facet as every warrior should be able to defend themselves and carry their own when it comes to defending clan. They are a culture with deep family ties, strong ideals, and of great personal development and strength.
Important:
An important note I would like to make. In my research to better organize this for those taking part in this game, I came across one portion of the wiki which denotes that the Mandalorians shift to be less religious and more secular. While this is in fact true based on the information it is working with, this is also potentially misleading. As the Mandalorians of that ancient time with which more modern variants are being compared to were deeply religious to the point of forcibly inducting people into their religion and held greater spiritual beliefs. I need to clarify that this does not make the more modern Mandalorians not religious. In fact, they are still very far from being secular, still having a semi-spiritual belief and tenants in which they live by marks them for their religious identity. However, in comparison to those ancient Mandalorians which the Wiki speaks of they are certainly more secular while still maintaining their status as a religion.
