[D1EE] Back from the Front (Expecting but Open)

[Cha Vizsla]

Cha checks around the base, looking for someone in particular. While what he has isn't exactly privileged, it would probably be lost in a sea of other points in a group setting so a quieter spot to check in seemed like a reasonable pick. There was someone around his age but even without a formal title she was certainly a leader of a strong faction of the younger warriors. She might have an idea of what levers to pull on it, and who else might be willing to take the swings he was.

"Raven Cadera. Do you have a moment?"

A few boxes of useless junk from the afternoon's book-reading was being put away. Why did people save old records of mundane inventory anyway... why was it important to track the amount of caf and toilet paper used?

Raven perked up as she heard the approach, and nodded to Cha. "Cha Vizsla, right? Sure, always got time for family."

[Cha Vizsla]

"Good. It's mostly happy news, but I am not quite sure what to do with it. Our Mandolore's plan seems to be working well. I snuck over to where they Imps are marshalling. Whatever we managed to observe in the forest after we mopped up their scouts? It sounds as if half of their base deployed to go there. I was too far away from exact numbers, but to send that much of their contingent out that way means that it seems that the plan worked, and now we might have a rough guess about their present force levels."

He pauses for a minute. "I am also trying to think of what that means for what we plan for the future on repelling them. They don't seemed sold on the base they have now, but right now are throwing manpower at the project. If they are willing to throw manpower at it, that's one less thing they are using to go after us. I need" Cha almost gags on the word "help figuring out how much pressure on them is too much. Ideally, they set up in a place where we can easily exploit a weakness or make it cost them too much to be useful while not making it so bad that they get wise and start from scratch"

Raven nodded along as Cha spoke. Her helmeted head cocked to the side in thought. "Mm, my guess is this must be the reconnaissance force, and not all of what the Empire is bringing in. Could be they have other camps further away."

Cha gagging on the word help seemed weird to her, but far be it for her to draw attention to it now. Everyone had their points of pride. "I can't say much on what sort of pressure to put on them if we don't know the numbers and what defenses they have going though. They also have Mandalorian support from what we've been told, so they might be pulling some stunts we wouldn't expect normally from the Imps." Her voice sounded thoughtful as she considered it. "Others might know more about what sort of tactics Rook Kast might employ. Can't say I know much about her."

"So basically, they know our standard Huttball playbook." Cha muses. "I was hoping to maybe get in a spot where we could manage a crippling blow, but you're right: this could be one camp of several. Putting a lot of time and attention on it could wind up being a massive waste if there are three more, and now they all know where to converge on."

"Still, if we can find new ways to slow them down, the better." He thinks on it. "If you need any help sneaking around, or need a contact from one of our shadier contacts, please keep me in mind."

"I'll keep it in mind, of course. Not much of a scout myself, but always happy to lend some muscles." She chuckled with some amusement. Violence seemed to be the thing to bring all Mandos together, Raven included. "Orar or Bura probably got some better knowledge on the current situation though, so don't hesitate to touch base with them if you find anything. Might as well deliver stuff straight to the ones calling the shots, right?"

At least she thought that there wasn't really a point of filtering info up... whatever ranks there were. Not like Mandalorians actually had ranks, right?

Cha pauses and nods. "Thank you. I think was worthwhile to bounce ideas off of someone else."

Raven nodded. "Yeah, it's good. Being in a situation like this is kinda new to me... used to avoiding the Empire on a planet and maybe get in a few shots where I can, but I suppose this is more a guerilla warfare-situation, right? Never really been in that before to this degree. With so much to lose too."
